Of internet and contemplations

There was a time, not too long ago, when I hung on to the internet, every free and even the not free time that I had. I would get flustered every time I couldn't connect to the internet or the connection is slow. Even when I had nothing to do, I would still leave the computer on. I could check every new email, facebook notifications, google reader updates, and everything else instant. Internet was everything.

Now that I'm back in Penang, Internet is only secondary. I don't feel like reading emails, blog, facebook, respond to updates, etc. You can see it by the frequency I update this blog and respond to your emails (sorry =P) when I'm back in Penang.

I guess for me when I'm back in UKM, Internet is like my rather faithful companion. News, updates, friends, come in the form of Internet. Now that I have my mobility, purpose, friends in the physical form, and free from academic commitments (for the time being), I almost find no reason to go online except to read news. I feel much more light, free, and useful.

It bring me to think if I should I apply to transfer to USM.

Pros:
Cheaper
Can work while studying
No need to worry about getting a place in college next year.

Cons:
Have to adhere to house rules
Complacency
Far away from a certain someone
Might miss out on happening activities in KL.

For now, the cons seem to outweigh the pros.

Maybe I should really go back to why UKM is one of my choice in the first place...
