I was back for three days (Fri-Sun) for rehearsal for Kisah Pulau Pinang. Yes, Kisah Pulau Pinang is coming back!!! And it's coming back real soon!
For those of you who are not familiar with what Kisah Pulau Pinang is a musical performance about the history of Penang. We performed this two years ago in Khoo Kongsi in July 2006 during Digi's Heritage Heboh (part of Digi's Amazing Malaysian CSR programme) after four months of training, planning, and rehearsal. We performed again for the community in Nov 2006 in Armenian Street as many could not watch it live in Khoo Kongsi.
Just as we thought our last Kisah Pulau Pinang performance was in Jan last year for Prof. Tan's (our music director) professorial talk, here we are, going to perform it for the NINTH time altogether, all the way from Jul 2006 - July 2008.
you can read my previous posts on 27 Nov 2006 and 21 Jan 2007. can't link it cuz i didn't title it.
This coming performance will be on what occasion you may ask. Well, it'll be for this:

As George Town and Malacca have acquired the UNESCO recognition as one of the World Heritage Sites, we in George Town will be having a three-day event from 25th - 27th July to celebrate this award.
Kisah Pulau Pinang will be performing on the 26th July at Esplanade at 8.30pm and we will be the first performance of the night.
*glees*

It's really an honour, both for Penang getting the World Heritage Site status and we given the chance to perform. I am most glad to be back in Penang, back onstage, and back with the people whom I have bonded with these two short memorable years.
Although I have progressed in terms of age from 18 y.o. to 20 y.o., we are still called children. Never never land.
I am also blessed to be able to have wonderful dinners and catch-up sessions with friends. Dinner at the la la house, moon-star-clouds gazing while lying on the basketball court, and a night of kooky jokes. It's definitely something to forward to in coming home.
Do come for the performance if you can. But bear in mind that you've gotta look for a place to park your car. The performance will be covered live, so they say. However nothing has been confirmed yet. If it does go live, I'll be sure to keep you posted.
Visit http://pasalpenang.blogspot.com for more information about the three day festival.
If you'd like to watch Kisah Pulau Pinang (the July 2006 version), I have embedded it below. It's about half an hour in total.
